DESCRIPTION
In January of 2022 the 4 people on trial for the toppling of the Colston statue were found not guilty of criminal damage. I followed the trial closely and took photographs at the trial when they emerged from the court cleared of all charges. I created the poster using photographs I took of them and of the banners which the supporters had made. Emerging from crown court 3 of the 4 wore the t-shirt Banksy had created for them to support the cause during the trial. I designed the t-shirt to reflect the popular stencil style typical of street artists and chose the photo which best represented the relief and vindication of the controversial trial which garnered global attention and support.
